The Sparrow and The Cat הדרור והחתול

One day I was walking through the park noticing a ginger cat intentionally approaching unknown destination: Inspired by the intensity I followed the cat bypassing an olive tree, where as from the other side of the olive tree I spotted a sparrow. The cat straightened up its tail and jumped at the sparrow. The sparrow fluttered with its wings as fast as it could and managed to escape. Amazed from the scenery I turned to the cat in Hebrew and said:

? “חתול, חתול, אין לך מה לאכול שאתה קופץ על דרור”

והחתול הביט בי , מתבייש

Translation to English:

“Cat, cat, don’t you have something to eat that you jump on a sparrow” ?

And the cat looked at me, ashamed.

Glossary:

Sparrow דְּרוֹר Dror

Cat חָתוּל Chatul

In Hebrew the word דְּרוֹר is a synonym to word חֹפֶשׁ Chofesh meaning freedom.

In the bible we find the word דְּרוֹר Dror related to very deep scene of freedom, as we

can see here in Leviticus the word Dror is a synonym to Jubilee יוֹבֵל Yovel , a celebration we declare once in a fifty years.

And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and call freedom in the country to all its inhabitants: jubilee it is for you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his family.

Leviticus 25:10

The Jubilee year was also the year that The Sons Of Israel crossed the Jordan river coming back to the promised land after 40 years of wondering in Sinai desert. As we can see a Jubilee is a general plug-in to boot up systems. A new period comes and everything comes to its place.
