What Is Healing?

June 11, 2026 2 min read By Eti Shani

In the ancient Hebrew way, healing occurs when words are spoken.

When two people meet, a verse rises. The verse which rises comes from the source and reflects a certain reality. Once it is spoken, the man is relieved from the pain and suffering that held him hostage in his own mind. Relief occurs when a new horizon appears — and this is healing.

In the daily blessing we say the following:

המחדש בטובו בכל יום תמיד מעשה בראשית

Who in His goodness renews each day, continually, the work of creation

The word Bereshit בראשית contains the word בריא – meaning “healthy.” Health in Hebrew is connected to creation, while the process of healing is anonymous and flows from itself, from the source, as it is encoded in the code of creation.

Illness and disease occur when people are drifting in time, believing that what happens in time is who they are. The verses pick them up where they are stuck and bring them back to the source, where healing occurs.

When the scripture says: “and the Word became flesh,” it means the Word of God manifested itself through the birth of a human in time and space. Every birth of a human is an expression of divine love breaking itself to pieces so that a human may appear here. In order for a human to appear here, divinity needs to break its silence.

Man appears here in time and space since divine love wishes to express itself through a vehicle called man.
