Sun שמש Shemesh
Joseph dreams the second time, in this dream, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars are bowing before him.
When Joseph tells the dream to his father and his brothers, his father scolds him saying: “Do you think that I, your mother and brothers will come and bow before you?
Though Jacob experienced dreams himself and sees a parallel relation between the eleven stars and his own eleven children, he cannot accept Joseph dream. Jacob thinks that the sun in the dream refers to him, while the moon in the dream refers to his beloved wife Rachel, and since she is already gone, the mentioned bowing is impossible.
Can it be that Jacob’s interpretation of Joseph dream was wrong? And if his own interpretation was wrong, what is the right interpretation of the dream? Can you tell?
