Attic in Hebrew is Aliyat Gag, עליית גג which means the way to rise to the roof.

While the house symbolizes the revealed and the tangible aspects of our lives, the attic symbolizes the hidden aspects of our lives, the relation to the heavens, and to infinity.

Both prophets Elijah and Elisha managed to revive dead children, by bringing them up to the attic.

And now an interesting footnote, Ancient in Hebrew is Attic עתיק, so by bringing the dead children to the attic, to the ancient one, to the source of sources, the prophets in a way connected the children to the main life source and revived them.
